As we emerge from a world where our fashion was limited to stretchy pants and slippers, we’re excited celebrate The Magic City’s talented designers and fashion culture. After a two-year hiatus, get ready to step inside the world of Magic City Fashion Week, June 9-12, with insight from local fashion and lifestyle influencer, Randall Porter.

Magic City Fashion Week began in 2017 from the mind of Birmingham local, Daniel Grier. The purpose of the week, according to their website, is to cultivate, connect, showcase and provide economic opportunity for the artistic community of Birmingham through fashion.

Focusing on emerging designers, this week emphasizes the importance of individuality and confidence. Over the years, they have gained support from community partners. Some of Season IV’s partners include The Summit, Bib and Tucker’s Sew Op, basic., Forecast Salon and The Pizitz.

A very special partnership is one with Central Alabama Pride, a local group that celebrates the LGBTQ community and supports valuable HIV/AIDS service organizations. Events with Central Alabama Pride have been built into MCFW’s schedule.

Local influencer, Randall Porter, always seem to be frontlines of shaping Birmingham’s culture and fashion scene. On June 9, he’s partnering with local shop owner Billy Reid for a show at the Birmingham Museum of Art for Season IV.

“Magic City Fashion Week since its birth has always been about creativity, inclusivity, visibility and is known for highlighting Birmingham’s fashion culture, due to the founder being a part of LGBTQ community himself. So it only seems natural to partner with Central Alabama Pride this year!”
