An Italian restaurant chain hopes to open in North Meridian’s large Orchard Park development.

Orchard Park, formerly Linder Village, is a large mixed-use project with retail buildings, office space, drive-thru sites, parking, and future residential development. It sits at the corner of Chinden Blvd. and Linder Rd.

If approved, this would be Olive Garden’s first Meridian location. Olive Garden first came to the Treasure Valley in 1988 at Boise Towne Square.

“Olive Garden restaurants are full-service, casual dining serving both lunch and dinner. Emphasizing high quality, Olive Garden appeals to all guests with its distinctive combination of attentive personalized service and flavorful entrees served in an inviting, comfortable atmosphere,” the application letter said.

The 7,818 square foot restaurant would have 255 total seats and 65 parking spaces.

The restaurant’s menu includes Chicken and Gnocchi Soup, Chicken Alfredo, and Shrimp Scampi. It would be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

The design of the building would look like a typical Olive Garden.

“All public spaces on-site and in the vicinity are connected by sidewalks and ramps and tied together by landscaping. Open concrete apron and benches in front of the building invite the public and provide space for gathering. Stone veneer offers varying color, shapes, sizes, and depth all throughout the building facades, accented by red brick clinkers, while wood-like veneers create another layer of interest,” the design letter said.

The applicant is requesting a design review and a certificate of zoning compliance. Olive Garden will need planning and zoning approval before going in front of the city council.
