Following fan speculation on Twitter, The Boys confirmed the hushed crossover between Herogasm and Party Down, the catering crew behind the event.

The following contains spoilers for The Boys Season 3 finale, "The Instant White-Hot Wild."

The Boys recently confirmed the show's crossover with Starz series Party Down in the sixth episode of Season 3, "Herogasm."

On social media, Esther Zuckerman, a senior entertainment writer at Thrillist, asked The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke and Jack Quaid, "Did Party Down cater [The Boys’] Herogasm?" with screenshots of convincing photo evidence attached. Prime Video responded, "Yes, Ron cornered Starlight in the kitchen with a Soup R Crackers pitch for 20 mins."

The caterers in the photos are sporting uniforms almost identical to those worn in the aforementioned series. Party Down, starring Ken Marino, Adam Scott and Lizzy Caplan, revolved around a dysfunctional catering team initially led by Marino's Ron Donald, a man with a dream to open an all-you-can-eat-soup franchise called Soup R' Crackers. He gets his chance, but the restaurant closes after 5 months and he returns to the crew as a low-level staff member. The 2009 sitcom comedy series ran for only two seasons, though Starz confirmed a Party Down revival in 2021 that would begin production in early 2022, with all original cast members returning except for Caplan.

Herogasm was heavily teased in the run-up to the show's premiere, with Kripke and the cast hinting at how sexually explicit and grotesque it would be. Kripke later admitted the marketing for the show may have overhyped the actual event in the series. However, he also revealed there were several gags the Boys episode was forced to cut and some that weren't possible to pull off. Kripke previously explained, "I remember at some point there was discussion about some kind of aquatic, Creature from the Black Lagoon-type Supe in the pool, having sex underwater. That was discussed at one point, and I don’t think we could pull that off."

The Season 3 finale of The Boys aired earlier this July, leaving fans with a chilling look at the future of the series. In the final moments of the episode, Homelander seems to have finally gained influence over Ryan. The ultra-nationalist supe and his biological son were almost destroyed by Soldier Boy, though Billy Butcher stepped in to protect the child, keeping his promise to his late wife Becca.

All three seasons of The Boys are available to stream on Amazon Prime.
