Robert Carlyle was once again spotted while filming for Disney + TV's series revival of The Full Monty in Manchester following the movie's original release 25 years ago.

The film's leading man, 61, who played Gaz, could be seen stepping out near a café called The Big Baps Restaurant on Monday as he worked on set.

The star sported a modern version of 1997 Gaz's signature leather jacket in some shots, while in other snaps the updated character's ensemble consisted of a simple black zip-up over an ash grey shirt.

Full Monty still on the menu! Robert Carlyle, 61, who played Gaz, could be seen stepping out near a café called The Big Baps Restaurant on Monday as he worked on set in Manchester

Still stylish: The star sported a modern version of 1997 Gaz's signature leather jacket in some shots, paired with a simple pair of jeans

Robert, who was seen on the remake's set for the first time on Friday, paired his looks with navy cargo trousers or light wash denims, and black and white sneakers.

Choosing to lose Gaz's blond mullet vis a vis the original film, Robert's long grey hair was combed back.

In some of the scenes, being shot, he appeared to peer inside the café pensively. In others, Robert looked to be inside the eatery.

Maturing: In some snaps the updated character's ensemble consisted of a black zip-up over an ash grey shirt, in contrast to Gaz's classic leather jacket

He was joined by Horse actor Paul Barber, now 71, on set as well as Steve Huison, 59, who played Lomper in the 1997 film.

Paul - who in earlier behind-the-scenes shots could be seen cruising onto set on a Jamaica flag adorned mobility scooter - sported a trendy ensemble with black jeans and a white button-up layered over a salmon shirt.

The actor also wore a beaded necklace, bright red beanie, tinted glasses and a black coat whereas Steve wore a simple blue shirt under a striped apron.

Working: In some of the scenes, being shot, he appeared to look inside the café while in others, Robert looked to be inside the eatery

Tom Wilkinson, 74, who played Gerald and Hugo Speer, 53 - who was Guy - could also be seen filming on Tuesday.

Tom donned a navy overcoat and a collared grey jumper, and Hugo  wore a white V-neck and brown button-up.

Last week Robert, Paul and Steve were snapped as they worked on scenes for the series.

As The Full Monty is set to be rebooted after 25 years FEMAIL reveals where the stars of the unlikely male stripper hit are now - including an Oscar nominee, a trainee counsellor, and a painter

Where are the cheerful would-be Chippendales now?

The new series will follow the original group of friends over eight episodes, as they navigate post-industrial Sheffield and the struggles faced by crumbling healthcare, education and employment systems.

In the 25 years since the film was released, the stars have split paths with some rubbing shoulders with Hollywood A-listers picking up Baftas and Oscar nominations, while others have pursued roles outside of acting including counselling and painting.

While some stars - including Robert Carlyle were household names before the film - it was a launching pad for many others who have gone on to star in British dramas, Hollywood films and more.

Here FEMAIL reveals where the original cast of the Full Monty are now...

Already a big name thanks to Danny Boyle's television series Hamish Macbeth and another Boyle production, Trainspotting, Robert Carlyle took the lead role in The Full Monty, persuading his very cynical mates to try their hand at some Chippendale-style thrusts.

Left in the film, right in 2020

Currently he's starring in hit Sky One series Cobra as Robert Sutherland, the Prime Minister and Leader of the Conservative Party

Then: The cockle-warming film saw out-of-work Gaz (Robert Carlyle pictured) persuade his newly unemployed friends to disrobe in front of an audience of women

He's set to reprise his role as psychotic hard man Francis Begbie again next year a six-part television spin-off series based on Irvine Welsh's 2016 book, The Blade Artist.

Teasing details of the project, Robert revealed that his character starts off the movie having just left HMP Edinburgh, where he served a 25-year prison sentence for his multitude of crimes.

Currently he's starring in hit Sky One series Cobra as Robert Sutherland, the Prime Minister and Leader of the Conservative Party.

In his 32-year career on the big and small screen he's become known for his commitment to authenticity in roles, often losing or gaining weight and changing his lifestyle to fit a character including moving house to live where it is set.

He's kept a relatively quiet private life. In 1997 he married make-up artist Anastasia Shirley, with whom he shares a daughter and two sons.

Then: Mark Addy starred as body-conscious Dave in the film; he's since enjoyed plenty of work across the pond in the US and in recent cult series Game of Thrones

The portly Dave is perhaps the least keen on disrobing in The Full Monty, but somehow managed to be the most charming of all the Sheffield strippers.

High profile television roles have followed for Mark Addy, now 58, who was already well known for his work on television comedy The Thin Blue Line.

He found worldwide fame once again starring as Tyrant King Robert Baratheon in the first season of global smash hit Game of Thrones in 2011 - with showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss singing his praises saying he was 'easiest actor to cast for the show'.

Addy has since become a stalwart of British TV, with roles in Doctor Who, White House Farm and The Salisbury Poisonings in recent years.

He's been married to Kelly Biggs since 1996 and has three children.

Flame-haired Lomper couldn't have looked less like a Chippendale but was brought into the group after trying to take his own life, fearing decades on the dole following the closure of the steelworks. Left in the film, right in 2017

Despite impressive credentials, Huison admits he nearly gave up his acting career, after a bad interaction with a top casting director for a blockbuster film.

Speaking about the director to Great British Life magazine he said: 'He was lying on a red leather chaise longue and didn't make eye contact. I was in the waiting room beforehand and Billy Connolly came out and he was shouting at this bloke and I thought: 'Wow – he's even managed to p*** off Billy Connolly'.

He nearly packed it all in, but shortly after his hero British director Ken Loach, cast him in a film called The Navigators.

A talented artist in more ways that one Huison also creates portraits for a living and recently had an exhibition at the Pyramid Gallery in York,
