Do you have the best chili around?

Try it on for size at the 5th Annual Fire Fighter’s 5 Alarm Chili Cook-off on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The event was to have been held this coming Saturday, but with all the fires commanding local firefighters' attention has been moved. The silver lining: That gives you a month to perfect your hot chili peppers.

The event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Centennial Building by Click It and Hailey Heritage, and the entry fee for chili makers is being waived this year.

The public will be allowed to cast their vote for several categories including General Public, Restaurant and Public Safety. And each entry will receive a special 5 Alarm Chili Cook-off apron.

There’ll be live music by the Kim Stocking Band, fresh beer, kids’ entertainment and a chance to try the chilis in this fundraiser for the Hailey Fire Department.
