Bobby Flay's Food Network debuted in 1994 when the network was still in its infancy. When he signed a three-year contract in 2018, he was their longest lifetime celebrity chef. In the same year, Frye admitted that working for "Steel Chef" had begun to influence him. "I have participated in more than 100'Iron Chef' competitions, and frankly, they are tired," he said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times at the South Beach Food and Wine Festival. "They are physically exhausted, but more importantly, they are also emotionally exhausted," the chef added.

In October of this year, news broke that Flay and Food Network's new deal contract negotiations broke down. According to reports, Frye is seeking a nine-figure deal. "Bobby wants a contract worth $100 million," a source told people at the time. This will make Frye's salary even higher than Guy Fieri, whose contract is reportedly worth $80 million. This astronomical figure is too high for the network, leading to a deadlock in the negotiations. "The two sides are too far apart. It is clear that the two cannot and cannot reach an agreement, so the network decided to move on without him," a source told People.

Frye’s days on the food network seem to be numbered, but for celebrity chef fans, fortunately, he returned to the negotiating table and was able to reach an agreement with his long-term network.

On November 22, it was reported that Bobby Flay would not leave Food Network in the end because he signed a new three-year contract with Discovery Inc., the parent company of the network. "I am very happy to expand my relationship with Food Network and Discovery," Flay's statement said everyone. His statement also talked about difficult negotiations. "Although these renewal negotiations have taken longer than expected, it is important that both parties are very happy that we can now continue to develop on an already rock-solid foundation," Frye added. He also hinted that a "new show" will be launched soon.

Food Network President Courtney White (Courtney White) issued a statement stating that the network is also "excited" for Flay to rejoin. "Continuing this creative relationship with such an extraordinary talent is the perfect way to welcome the holidays," said Honcho, the head of Food Network, everyone.

In 2017, Frye seemed to abruptly quit his job as a judge of "Steel Chef", which caused controversy. During the filming, he took off the chef's jacket and revealed a T-shirt with the words "This is my last iron chef battle", every diners. Later, the chef admitted that he did not actually quit smoking, but instead wore this shirt as a gimmick. "In hindsight, this may not be the best decision because it will only create chaos," Frye said at the time. This prank has obviously not been welcomed by Food Network executives. "The Internet is not excited," the TV presenter revealed to people in 2018.
