As the five chefs who earned Hell’s Kitchen Season 20 Black Jackets prepare for their first dinner service, the tides have turned. While Gordon Ramsay will have the final say on the winner, each chef will be leaving it all on the pass. Which chef has the best chance to win it all?

For any chef who competes in Hell’s Kitchen, earning the coveted Black Jacket is a big deal. It shows that they have made it past the bickering and backstabbing and rose above it all. Granted, these chefs could not have made major mistakes in the red or blue kitchens.

When the teams are battling each other, there is some room to hide. Chefs are not necessarily sabotaging each other, but they can let one person fail if it serves them a benefit. Allowing a rival to present rare steak might be a better choice in the early rounds. While everyone knows that mistakes can happen, a better timed mistake can serve a chef well.

Although Hell’s Kitchen fans might have a favorite chef, that person doesn’t always earn the highest praises from Gordon Ramsay. Even though this food television show is entertainment, there is a real job at stake. Being popular doesn’t always equate to having the right skills for the position.

Looking back at previous Hell’s Kitchen seasons, women chefs have dominated the win column. Even the finalists in the past two seasons have been all women. But, Hell’s Kitchen Season 20 might break that pattern.

Although Brynn was one of the first chefs to earn a Black Jacket, many viewers might recall her breakdown at the beginning of the season. It was questionable that she didn’t know how to make polenta in a recent challenge. She might not have the skill set to take over this position.

Steven has been filled with doubt recently. While he could have been sent home in a recent challenge, he got a pass. Even though Steve can produce great food, he is a little too quiet in the kitchen. If his leadership skills are in doubt, it might be time for Steve to bow out.

Megan has been making a big impression recently. She has a great palate and has been showcasing her leadership skills on the line. If she can continue to be vocal, she might make a big push for the final two.

Kiya has been a powerhouse all season long. From being able to execute to stepping up to help others, Kiya is a force. Although she might not be quite as experienced as other chefs and still needs to expand her cooking skills, she is the queen of meat.

Trenton might not be the flashy chef on the line, but he delivers almost every time. From creative flavor profiles to exceptional plating, Trenton is ready to take over. It will be interesting to see if he has been holding back and is ready to take everyone else down.
