After all, the supply chain may not be the Grinch stealing Christmas. Despite fears about shortages, the US Department of Commerce reported that retail sales surged in October—a sign that consumers are looking for something to buy (although the price may be higher). At the same time, major retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target, and the parent companies of TJ Maxx and Marshalls said last week that they had sufficient holiday inventory.
But your gift list is unclear.
Employers are still struggling to find workers. Microchip production is still struggling to meet demand. Good luck buying PlayStation 5 retail.
The following is an overview of the 12 products and categories affected by the supply chain, and their current status. If you have been paying attention to the end, you will find a complete list of stocks and early Black Friday specials from companies such as Wal-Mart and Best Buy.
On Monday, Walmart offered members of its Amazon Prime competitor Walmart the hard-to-find PlayStation 5 at a roughly marked price — while stocks last. This is one thing. Many retailers release a limited number of scarce PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles during the holidays (thanks to the chip shortage). Finding a product that meets or is close to the list price will depend on determination and luck-the more frequently you check inventory with retailers online and in stores, the more likely you are to catch sporadic replenishments during the holiday season.
If you plan to rate one of them before it's finished in 2021, then, of course, there will always be eBay—PS5 and Xbox consoles will cost about $1,000 each, which is 100% higher than their respective list prices of $500.
As we recommended before, a better choice is the third-party market StockX. As of release, the certified Xbox X-series consoles are priced at $775, while the similarly certified PS5 with Blu-ray is priced at $766. Prices on StockX fluctuate greatly, sometimes from one minute to one minute, so as they say, your mileage may vary.

In the first few months of the pandemic, chip production declined and demand for chip-driven products increased. Presto change-o: Chip shortage! Although you may not buy microchips, you may buy items that you cannot sell without them—such as laptops.
In his October holiday season forecast, Stephen Baker of the market research firm GDP Group wrote that entry-level consumer electronics—such as laptops, or, more accurately, cheap laptops—“may be more difficult to obtain.” A report on Holiday Technology inventory released by The New York Times last week basically agreed, and pointed out that consumers should expect to buy laptops (and fewer transactions) in the price range of less than $400.
What should the negotiating laptop buyer do? Recommendations that will be repeated in this guide: look around and click. As reported in September, severe chip shortages forced Apple to cut production of its new iPhone 13 series by the end of the year. Fortunately, for Apple's advocates, 90 million iPhones minus 10% (expected production cut) is still a lot.
As of launch, the new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini can be purchased directly through Apple-although these devices are priced at $799 and above and $699 and above, respectively.
Elsewhere, Wal-Mart offers the iPhone 13 with a monthly installment plan of $0 and offers AT&T or Verizon service plans, so it is out of stock. (Check the button below for replenishment.) The situation at Best Buy looks better, where a 128 GB device can be purchased at a unit price of $100, a one-time payment of $700, and you can use the new AT&T line or account.

According to data from the US Department of Agriculture, as of August 31, the inventory of frozen turkey and turkey parts was 24% lower than the three-year average (2018-2020). The FBI said that high feed costs are part of the reason for the decline in turkey production, and the decline in frozen turkey production is also one of the reasons.
Now, does this mean that from now to the new year, your local supermarket will not have frozen turkey? will not. But this may mean that you will pay more for your bird this year than last year.

In October last year, the CEO of the company behind the LOL Surprise series stated that some of the larger-sized items in the toy industry, including the LOL Surprise OMG House of Surprises, may be difficult to reach stores and warehouses this holiday season.
"LOL house-that thing is more than $200, and it's big," Issa Clarian told CNBC. "You can only put 150 to 200 in a container. You can't transport it by air."

Adobe's Digital Economy Index found that after technology, jewelry generated more out-of-stock information from e-commerce sites in October than any other category. Diamonds can be particularly difficult to obtain. Market research firm IndexBox recently pointed out that diamond prices are rising due to supply shortages.

In August, the American Booksellers Association recommended that booksellers stock up on books they expected to be in demand during the holiday shopping season. Maybe everyone received the memo? After several weeks of monitoring Amazon's top 10 best sellers in 2021, we have not encountered any out-of-stock news. So, no, there is no need to snap up "I love you back to the moon". (In addition, for books, e-book versions are often available even if hardbacks and paperbacks are sold out.)

In this category, Nike, Michael Kors and other brands that produce many goods in Vietnam have been receiving attention-factories in Vietnam have been closed due to the pandemic.
However, in an earnings call with reporters on November 3, the CEO of Michael Kors' parent company said that although the inventory of the production line is lower than expected, it is sufficient to meet consumer demand during the holiday season.

As with clothing and accessories, the main problem in this category is that leading brands such as Nike, Columbia and Lululemon rely on products produced in Vietnam-even if factories restart in Vietnam, it is difficult to combat them due to a shortage of workers.
Last time we checked, if you buy a pair of Nike's best-selling Air Max 90 Premium men's shoes worth $130 in the market, everything will be fine. For a long time, Christmas trees are easily affected by the whims of the supply chain. This year, some people are worried about man-made tree inventory. A CNN report stated that the price of this typical imported product may rise by 25% in 2020.
So, higher prices-maybe. But no tree? It is worth mentioning that when we checked the Wal-Mart website, we found several best-selling man-made trees in stock, including the pre-lit 7.5-foot Colton fir from Holiday Time.

One year after shoppers buy Christmas lights (to decorate all the trees they buy), people expect that these sparkling light strings will once again be in short supply. (Christmas lights are mainly produced and imported from Asian countries, so yes, supply chain issues.)

To be sure, there are spirits and transactions in this area: For example, Total Wine & More has a series of bundled wine deals (two to three bottles per bottle).
But in general, the supply chain is not friendly to an industry that relies heavily on imported beverages. "Obviously, there is a shortage of containers right now," David Ozgo of the Distilled Liquor Committee said according to CBS Dallas/Fort Worth. "The space on a container ship is very, very short."
Oh: There is still a shortage of glass.
